The day started late, mother nature didn't quite cooperate as planned, light rains and wet roads pushed our anticipated 10:30 start time to noon. On arrival at our Hwy 7 meeting place, we ran into member Jeff W who happened to be gassing up. He had plans to meet members from Ontario XIII (Trenton) who were in the Ottawa area so we waited and rode together. Six bikes and 8 riders rode from Carleton Place, along the Mississippi Lake back roads, up Hwy 511 to Calabogie where we stopped for a quick meal. We were tempted by ice cream, but the temperatures north of White Lake were about 6 degrees cooler so we passed and headed back through Waba, Packenham and back to Carleton Place where we broke off and rode into a spectacular sunset. Total mileage 236km. In attendance were Paul &Trudi Klassen, Greg Driscoll, Chris Coon and Jeff Woodruff from Ontario II. I didn't get the names from the Ontario XIII riders, but they were friends of Jeff.
