Space Coast meets Treasure Coast

South of Brevard County is known as the Treasure Coast due to the discovery of Spanish treasure. In the late 1700's about 12 Spanish ships were wrecked on the coast by a hurricane on their voyage from South America to Spain loaded with silver, gold and jewels. The sunken treasure was discovered about 25 years ago.

Due to the proximity of the two areas a meet and greet was arranged with Florida XII and the Port St. Lucie chapter FLX on 29 January 2011. About 35 members met in Varo Beach at an ocean side restaurant, Waldo's. The weather, scenery and food were great along with the band who provided the music.
