Don't they look semi-dry

There was a Police escort for the Parade portion of the ride to the west end of Ottawa.
Our VP Stu leads the Parade

We met a past president of ON II, Roy -along the way

At the end of the Parade, the porker Run continued via Almonte, Carlelton Place, Smiths Falls, Kemptville (for a tasty meal) and ended at the Rideau Carleton Race Track and Casino. There were door prizes, a 50/50 draw and the major prize of a Harley.
Due to the rain, participation was down from 2011 which had 2350 participants. Over 3000 bikes were expected this year. The final count was about 1500 registered and 900 riding. However, they still raised $400,000.00 for cancer research.
We met to register, pass in our donations/fees and decide if we would continue on the parade. After assessing the weather we entered the parade. At the end of the parade we again decided to continue on with the poker run. In the end, it was a reasonable ride and we did not get too wet. It is a great cause.
One of our members Alain, collectd $1300.00 this year and his total over the past nine years is $10,400.00. Congratulations Alain on your dedication and support for this ride.
